Election of the Chairperson of the Academic Board

Call for nominations

Term of office commencing 1 April 2026 and concluding 31 March 2028.

This is a call for nominations for the election of the Chairperson of the Academic Board by members of the Academic Board.

The person elected as the Chairperson of the Academic Board will also be a member of the University Council. Council is the University’s governing body, established under the Curtin University Act 1966 (“the Act”).  Council is responsible for the overall governance and effective management of the University. Section 9(1)(i) of the Act provides that the Council of the University shall include ‘one person for the time being the chairperson of the Academic Board of the University established by Statute’.

This call is being made as the term of office of the current Chairperson, John Curtin Distinguished Professor Dale Pinto, concludes on 31 March 2026.
