What is the Curtin Midwifery Clinic?

The Curtin Midwifery Clinic is run by Midwifery Students, supervised by Endorsed Midwives/ Curtin Midwifery Academics.

No referral is required; simply call us on 9266 1717 to make an appointment.

Services offered

We offer a range of bulk-billed services (Medicare card required) for women who are pregnant or have birthed within the last 6 weeks:

  • Pregnancy choices, including medical abortion (up to 63 days after missed period)
  • Antenatal appointments, including:
    • Routine appointments until you give birth
    • Cervical screening
    • Birth plans
    • Preparing for breastfeeding and parenting
  • Postnatal appointments, including:
    • Routine postnatal appointments monitoring mum and baby
    • Family planning and contraception
    • Breastfeeding support
    • Cervical screening

Non-bulk-billed appointments are all billed at $30 and include:

  • Pre-conception care
  • Contraception care (including Implanon implant)
  • Maternity care for non-Medicare card holders

What is involved?

You will meet your midwifery student and Endorsed Midwife at your first appointment, and a plan will be made for your ongoing care.  Your initial appointment will take 60 minutes.

Your care will be documented in a Maternity Hand Held Record (if pregnant) and in a confidential clinic database.
