Do I still need to purchase an Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) if my country is covered under Reciprocal Health Care Agreement (RHCA) with Australia?

UPDATED 14 NOV 2023 | 2:51AM
If you are in Australia on a student visa holding a citizenship of either Norway, Sweden or Belgium, you are not required to purchase an OSHC because you will be covered for treatment that is medically necessary under your country’s Reciprocal Health Care Agreement (RHCA) with Australia.
o    Norwegian students are covered by the Norwegian National Insurance Scheme; o    Swedish students are covered by the Swedish Legal, Financial and Administration Agency (Kammarkollegiet); o    Belgian students are under the compulsory health care insurance in Belgium covered under the Reciprocal Health Care Agreement with Australia.
If you are from any of the above countries, you may need to provide evidence of your citizenship as part of your acceptance document.
