Outline

Outline

This specialisation will introduce you to the basic principles of tourism and hospitality. You’ll learn about the challenges and opportunities of the sectors, including sustainability and destination management.

You’ll study four units that provide you with an introduction to tourism and hospitality and a grounding in the knowledge, skills and competencies you’ll need for a career within these sectors.

The skills and knowledge you’ll learn are transferable to other industries including event management, travel, leisure and recreation. Hospitality and events operations also exist in a wide range of public and private sector organisations, including government and education.

The specialisation differs from the Tourism and Hospitality major, which involves more in-depth study and includes industry engagement, an international study tour and internship opportunities. It’s an ideal complement to a marketing or management major.
