What is undergraduate study?

UPDATED 18 AUG 2026 | 4:23AM

Undergraduate study refers to university-level education undertaken after completing secondary school. It is a type of post-secondary education and is typically undertaken at a higher education institution, such as a university.

The most common type of undergraduate study is the bachelor's degree, which usually takes three to four years to complete. If a student achieves a strong course weighted average (CWA), they may be invited to complete an additional year and graduate with honours, subject to availability.
