What is a Further Assessment and how do I get one?

UPDATED 13 OCT 2025 | 3:01AM

A Further Assessment is an additional assessment task offered to eligible students by the Board of Examiners (BoE) provided they have met the required , giving the student a final opportunity to meet the learning outcomes of a unit. This task may be different from the original assessment.

You cannot apply directly for a Further Assessment. They are granted on a case-by-case basis by the BoE and are only available in units that have been approved for Further Assessment. Check your unit outline to see if your unit is eligible.

If the BoE determines that you are eligible, you will receive a notification through your Official Communications channel with instructions. You must be available to complete the assessment as scheduled. If you pass, your original mark will remain, but your final result will be recorded as a pass.
