How do I order my preferences in the Applicant Portal?
When applying to Curtin, you can select up to five course preferences per application, ordered from 1 to 5. It is recommended that you select more than one course on your application, especially if your first choice is a competitive entry course.
Your preferences are then ordered as a ranked list, and an offer will first be considered for the highest-ranked course. If you're not eligible or places aren't available, your next preference will then be considered.
How to order your preferences
Offers are issued according to your preferences and eligibility, so the order you put them in matters. Ensure you only select courses you're willing to accept.
- Check course entry requirements to ensure you're eligible.
- Choose your most preferred course as number 1.
- Add your second, third, fourth and fifth preferences as numbers 2-5.
If you're applying for a competitive course, consider adding non-competitive courses to your selection.
Once you've submitted your application, your preferences will display in the summary in the same order that you selected them.
For domestic applications, if you wish to make changes, you'll need to contact Admissions. For international applications, please submit an online enquiry
