Triage is the initial appointment you will have with our counselling service if you haven’t been before or haven’t been in the last 6 months. It involves a 20-minute assessment by our triage counsellor. By the end of the assessment, the triage counsellor will be able to determine the urgency and complexity of your needs and offer you appropriate service options. These service options could be one-on-one counselling, group programs and workshops, organisational support (e.g., extensions for assignments, unit withdrawals, refunds under special circumstances), or referrals to external services and/or online resources. Triage and the service options can be face-to-face or online depending on your needs, study type, geographic location, and the nature of the service.
Triage session times work on a first-come, first-served basis. Bookings can only be made between 8:30am to 12:30pm AWST Monday to Friday on the day of the appointment. Sessions fill up very fast so please call as early as possible to secure a spot. If appointments are full that day, try again the next day.
Session times: • Between 9am and 1pm AWST Monday to Friday
