What is a specialisation or minor and how can this be added to my study plan?
A specialisation or minor is a recognised set of units that you may be able to take as part of your course. They are made up of 100 credits worth of units and in some courses, they are part of the requirements. You can use the online handbook to check your course structure and to view available specialisations. Not all specialisation will be available in every course.
Completed specialisations and minors will only appear on your academic transcript and not on your award certificate.
If your course allows selection of a specialisation, you can add this to your study plan via the Enrol in Units page in eStudent. Alternatively, if you have 100 credits worth of electives in your course, there may be the potential to add a specialisation (depending on entry requirements). Please contact
If you wish to change your specialisation once selected, you will need to submit a request via the online enquiry form. Select Managing your course, then Changing your major or specialisation or minor, then Submit Enquiry.
