Curtin Invest: Deal

Curtin Invest is a four-part series curated to raise awareness and educate West Australian investors, corporates and investees in startup investment. Supported by the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation’s New Industries Fund, the purpose of the series is to contribute towards, grow, and cultivate an investible ecosystem, positioning WA as a state to invest in with abundant talent, ideas, technology and opportunities.

The fourth and final event in this series is Curtin Invest: Deal. Facilitated by esteemed angel investors Tracie Clark of VentureX Capital and Rob Nathan of the Curtin Invest Syndicate, this workshop will educate participants on the investment landscape, emerging investment trends, and the role that angel investors play in funding early stage companies and startups.

What’s Involved?

Participants in the Curtin Invest: Deal workshop can expect to learn:

• What it means to be an Angel Investor compared to other investor types
• How to build an investment portfolio
• How to evaluate an investment opportunity
• How to close a deal with introductions to key documentation used between investors and companies
• How to conduct a deal assessment and evaluate investor pitches from some of Curtin’s startup companies

A panel discussion will also be held with eminent WA investor leaders Pia Turcinov from FundWA, Wilson Casado from Vici Ventures, and Kirsty Packer from Purpose Ventures. At the end of the workshop, over drinks and canapes, participants are invited to mingle and share their key takeaways from the day’s learnings.

Following completion of this workshop, participants will have the chance to qualify as an Experienced Investor through the Aussie Angels Experienced Investor Pathway course.
