Accommodation on-campus

Agricola is Curtin’s on-campus student accommodation in Kalgoorlie. Agricola offers high-quality accommodation and recreational facilities at reasonable prices. The grounds are gated and located a few minutes’ walk to Curtin Kalgoorlie and Kalgoorlie’s central precinct. Within the grounds there’s a gym, tennis court, squash court, barbecue areas, study rooms and a laundry, which are all free for you to use. You can park at Agricola for free if there are available bays.

Living at Agricola gives you the ability to meet other students from around the world and make friends while you’re studying.

Rooms at Agricola are limited, so we encourage you to apply early to secure your spot.

How to get there

Kalgoorlie is 650 kilometres east of Perth in the heart of Western Australia’s gold industry. From Perth, most students travel to Kalgoorlie by train (The Prospector) as it is considerably cheaper than travelling by air. It takes one hour to fly to Kalgoorlie from Perth and around seven hours by train. Students driving to Kalgoorlie should plan on it taking at least six hours from Perth. Trains leave daily from the East Perth Rail Terminal. View timetable via the Transperth website.


Once you’ve confirmed your travel details, please contact Agricola staff at agricola@curtin.edu.au to arrange your check-in.


When you arrive in Kalgoorlie, go to the Agricola office located at 61 Wilson Street.


How to apply

Follow these helpful tips when applying for your Agricola Student Accommodation in Kalgoorlie:

  1. Stay informed: 
Visit the Agricola Residence Portal. The homepage features a banner that provides the most current status of application openings for semester-only, annual, or summer stays. If applications are closed, we ask you to sign up for the Expression of Interest form to receive email notifications when they reopen.
  2. Create or access your account: 
Create an account on the Agricola Residence Portal using your valid Curtin student email address. If you already have an account, you’ll simply be able to log in by using your Curtin student email address to submit an application. If you are unable to log in please contact the Agricola team by emailing agricola@curtin.edu.au. The team can assist you with resetting your account.
  3. Navigate to the application tab: 
After logging in, go to the “New/Application/Offer Information” tab to start your application.
  4. Submit your application:
Complete all required fields and submit your application. We recommend retaining a copy for your personal records.
  5. Await confirmation: 
If your application is successful, you will receive an email along with an offer letter. Be sure to accept the offer and pay the non-refundable fee within 48 hours to secure your accommodation.
  6. Stay engaged: Throughout your application journey, additional information will be provided. Make sure to check your Curtin student email regularly.

Applications for Semester 2, 2026 open on Monday 4 May, 10am. Please note that only a limited number of rooms are available and priority will be given to 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students studying Bachelor of Mining, Engineering and Metallurgy programs.
