Curtin enAble Institute Dementia Community Advisory Group
The project
Curtin’s enAble Institute aims to help all people lead healthier lives and to remain in their homes and communities despite the challenges that life throws at us. The Institute’s research is organised into Domains of research, one of which is Dementia and Ageing.
The researchers conduct research that will:
- improve dementia care
- promote mental wellbeing in people living with dementia
- look at side effects of medication taken by people with dementia
- reduce the risk of falls in people with dementia
- explore the connection between dementia and other conditions eg. Parkinson’s disease, hearing loss
- reduce risk of future cognitive impairment and dementia in ageing populations
- understand the mechanisms underlying the dementia syndrome
The involvement opportunity
The Dementia and Ageing Domain is seeking 4 community representatives with a lived experience of dementia to join the Curtin enAble Dementia Community Advisory Group. - Providing input into the design of a new research centre
