I am an international student applying for a higher degree by research (HDR) course. How will I know the status of my application?

UPDATED 25 JUL 2025 | 3:07AM

To enquire about the status of your higher degree by research (HDR) application, please visit the Ask International page and lodge an enquiry.

Usually, applicants are notified of the outcome of their assessments and the Letter of Offer will be issued to successful HDR applicants by Global Curtin.

If your application is unsuccessful, you will be advised by Global Curtin. Please note that your application may have been unsuccessful because the enrolling school does not have the facilities or staff currently available to provide appropriate supervision for the proposed research. This does not necessarily reflect adversely upon your qualifications or ability to undertake the proposed program of study.

Once the application has been approved, the Letter of Offer and invoice for fees will be emailed to you together with a pre-departure information guide containing information on tuition fee payment, visa information, health insurance and any other special requirements.

Note: outcomes on HDR applications may take up to 8-12 weeks from lodgement.
