ChemAlert

ChemAlert is the University’s primary source of chemical safety information. It acts as the University’s Chemical Register and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database.

Staff and students must be aware of the hazards and appropriate controls prior to handling a chemical. You can access ChemAlert to obtain this information so that you can accurately complete a risk assessment for your process, project, reaction, or task.

  1. How to access ChemAlert

    Click here for access when on the campus network

    Click here for access when off campus or working over a mobile network

    Please ensure that you have pop-up blockers on your web browser disabled for ChemAlert.

  2. Select Anonymous or enter your stock manager credentials

    Once in ChemAlert, select the Anonymous user profile, or enter your credentials if you are a stock manager.

    If you require Stock Manager access refer to the New Stock Manager Requirements

  3. Search for Safety Data Sheets

    Once in ChemAlert, search for your product in the search bar

    – Try searching for the product name as a synonym.
    – Try specifying your search to return results that contains the product name / synonym rather than results that start with the name.

    Click on the SDS link available to the right of your chemical in the search results table.
