Avoid using these chargers
The Operations and Maintenance Team have noted several requests to repair/replace power points that are being damaged due to the use of unsuitable power chargers/adapter plugs.
Please review the equipment in your area and replace any plugs of this type.
Use of Portable Electric Heaters on Campus
The Universities Electrical Safety Procedures state that workers, students and visitors will not use
portable electrical heaters in air-conditioned spaces.
Safety on Campus
In recent months there have been several incidents on campus related to interactions between cyclists, vehicles and pedestrians. These incidents have occurred on roadways, shared zones, crosswalks, within carparks and on internal pathways. Thankfully in each of these instances the incidents only resulted in minor injuries to those involved.
E-Scooters on Campus
There have been a number of reports of near miss incidents on campus involving e-scooters. Collisions between these devices and pedestrian can result in serious injuries.
Truck Blind Spot Awareness
In a recent incident a large truck collided with a Curtin worker’s vehicle multiple times whilst travelling in the same direction along a major highway.
