Services for off-campus staff & students
You may be eligible for additional library services if you are a student or staff member with disabilities, or a staff member or postgraduate student based off-campus.
Students & staff with disabilities
Services for students and staff with a disability are individually tailored to assist with access to Library materials and equipment. They may include:
- sending items to you at home by courier.
- photocopying sections of Library items for you.
You can return borrowed items by mail free of charge.
First you need to register with an AccessAbility Advisor at AccessAbility Services.
When registered with the Library you will receive a letter of introduction detailing your access. If you have any questions please contact email@example.com.
Materials will be loaned to your Library account. The Library will let you know when you need to return your items via email. If the item is requested by another client, you will be emailed a date by which it will need to be returned. You are guaranteed a minimum seven-day loan.
For students with a vision disability, print material can sometimes be obtained in a format more suitable for your needs. Contact an AccessAbility Advisor at AccessAbility Services with these requests.
To help you get items that lecturers have listed as required reading for courses, wherever possible the Library places full-text electronic copies of them in Reading Lists. You can access these through Blackboard; there is no need to borrow them.
Off-campus services for staff and postgraduate students
If you are a Curtin Postgraduate student, Curtin OUA Postgraduate student or Curtin staff and live outside the Perth or Kalgoorlie metro areas, then you may be eligible for off-campus services.
The Library will provide materials to eligible clients who cannot get to the Library in person. This includes copies of chapters and journal articles via email when licensing allows; as well as loaning books and AV items.
Eligible clients may request items online via the catalogue or by selecting the pick up location as Home Delivery. For instructions on how to request items please see requesting physical items.
Loaned books and AV items will be sent to eligible clients via Australia Post. The client is responsible for paying the return postage.
