Upcoming maintenance affecting some software products

Curtin Information Technology Services (CITS) will be undertaking maintenance on Curtin infrastructure that may affect a number of software products used in labs and on office computers. Software may be briefly unavailable during the four (4) hour maintenance period.

The majority of software products included in this maintenance is used for learning and teaching, with some of the most common products being:

  • MAPTEK Vulcan
  • GEMCOM “SURPAC Whittle Minex”
  • Soft-Blast JKSimBlast
  • KAPPA Engineering KAPPA
  • Manitoba HVDC PSCAD
  • DigSILENT PowerFactory
  • PLAXIS plaxis2D/3D
  • Schlumberger ECLIPSE/Petrel
  • TopCON CivilCAD
  • AdamTech 3DM Analyst
  • IHS Kingdom
  • Desktop Technology NewsBoss
  • Gerber Accumark

When is this going to happen?

Between 8am and 12pm (AWST) on Tuesday, 25 June 2019.

How will this affect you?

You may be unable to run software that is dependent on licence servers.  Possible issues include (but are not limited to):

  • Software and software suites loading with a licence error message; or
  • Software and software suites being completely unavailable.

Services will return to normal once the maintenance has been completed.

Further Information

Many of Curtin’s software products require the use of a paid licence. Some of these licences are made available to students and staff via licence servers.
