You’ve probably heard of AFL, or maybe seen the term Flagmantle floating around. Whether you’re a die-hard Freo fan or have no idea what any of that means, this is your chance to soak up the energy of a live match and see what all the fuss is about.
In partnership with the Fremantle Dockers, Curtin are giving away FREE tickets to the Fremantle Dockers vs St Kilda game on Sunday 29 June! AFL (Australian Football League) is one of Australia’s most popular sports: fast-paced, electric, and uniquely local. It’s the perfect way to immerse yourself in Aussie culture and experience a sporting tradition like no other.
What’s included?
A free ticket to the game (you can bring a friend too if you like)
An optional bus ride from Curtin to Optus Stadium with other students*
A free Dockers cap and scarf to get into the spirit
A group walk across Matagarup Bridge before heading into the stadium together*
This event is all about helping students connect, meet new people and enjoy something new. Even if you come by yourself, you’ll be part of a big, friendly Curtin crew. You might walk in not knowing anyone, but you could leave with a few new mates and a solid appreciation for the game.
Tickets are limited, so it’s first in, first served. You’ll need to register your interest via the form, and make sure to check your emails by Wednesday 25 June, for confirmation on how to collect your ticket. If you don’t collect your ticket, we’ll have to give it to someone else. And yes, you will need your ticket to board the bus and enter the stadium, so please keep it safe.
The bus is one-way only, so you’ll need to make your own way home. Plan your transport here. Bring comfortable clothes and shoes, and consider packing a jacket if the weather forecast indicates rain.

*The group walk is for students wishing to take the optional Curtin to Optus Stadium bus. If you wish to organise your own transport to Optus Stadium, you can meet the rest of the Curtin group at the Optus Stadium grounds.
