How long have you worked at Curtin? 3 weeks

Where did you work prior to starting at the University? Westlink Logistics as HR Coordinator. Westlink is a shipping logistics company with offices in Perth and Singapore. They have contracts within the mining and oil and gas industries.

What do you like best about your role? I have only been at Curtin University for three weeks and so far everyone has been very welcoming within the team at the School of Public Health. I look forward to working with and getting to know everyone better over time. It’s a varied role which is great, as no day is the same!

First job? Worked in a supermarket when I was 16 to pay for a trip to America!

Worst job? Working on my family’s vineyard!!

Your favourite place in the world and why? A very close call between the Caribbean and Italy – Amalfi Coast. The most beautiful waters around the islands of the Caribbean and the Amalfi Coast. A lot of history and beautiful landscapes.

Your favourite cuisine and why? Mexican and Italian! Love all the different flavours and the antipasto options.

What is the best piece of advice you have received? ‘Have no regrets’

Tell us something about yourself that your colleagues wouldn’t know? I used to swim professionally at State level in Victoria and I have swum against some now former Olympians. Therefore, I do love to try and keep fairly fit and healthy.

I have done a lot of travelling over the past 15 years, spending 3 years living and working in London. I also had a fantastic opportunity to work on private yachts around the Mediterranean and the Caribbean which was definitely a highlight of my travel experiences and was very fortunate to visit many beautiful locations.
