Starting uni is exciting, and sometimes a little overwhelming. Curtin has a huge range of support services designed to help you settle in, succeed in your studies and feel connected from day one.

Study Support
Curtin offers services to help you succeed academically, whether on-campus or online, including:
- UniPASS: Group study sessions for demanding units.
- UniSkills: Online modules and guides on writing, research, referencing, numeracy, and digital skills.
- Peer Academic Mentoring (PAMs): One-on-one peer guidance for assignments and study planning.
- Library workshops and study spaces: Workshops on research, writing, and digital skills, plus quiet and group study areas, computer labs, and equipment for loan.
Staff are also available if you’re struggling in a unit or need extra guidance.
Personal Support
Access services that look after your wellbeing, safety and sense of belonging, including:
- Counselling and Wellbeing: Confidential support from anything from settling into university life, to providing you with counselling, resources and advice during crises and other stressful situations.
- AccessAbility Services: Adjustments and tailored support for students with disability, chronic illness or caring responsibilities.
- Indigenous Student Support: Guidance, mentoring and cultural programs for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
- Curtin Careers: Here to support you in planning your career, developing your skills and experience, and applying for work.
- Safer Community Team: 24/7 campus safety and support to handle security issues or emergency situations.
- Faith and Religion: Faith services and facilities, including visiting chaplains, multi-faith rooms, student clubs, and religious events for various faiths and denominations.
International Student Support
From acceptance through to graduation, support is available at every point of your student journey, including:
- Departure essentials, organising your VISA and what to know before moving to Australia.
- Information about essential utilities, getting work in Australia and preparing for life in Western Australia.
- Practical guides with tips and advice on preparing for your return home.
Online Student Support
Stay connected and supported, no matter where you’re studying from, with support including:
- Local Study Facilities: You might be nearby to a Regional University Study Hub (RUSHs), that can help you access higher education without having to leave your community.
- IT Tools and Guides: You have access to a range of online tools, resources, systems and software while studying at Curtin.
- Student Wellbeing Online: Remote access to counselling, wellbeing workshops and self-help tools.
