From Monday 15 December, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will be introduced for all Curtin students accessing Blackboard and Respondus.
What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?
MFA adds an extra layer of security by requiring two forms of verification, such as a password and a smartphone, making unauthorised access much harder and protecting your digital identity.
Why is this change happening?
Cybersecurity threats are increasing, and MFA is one of the most effective ways to safeguard sensitive information. By adding MFA, Curtin ensures that access to critical systems is secure and aligned with best practice.
What does this mean for you?
The process of enabling MFA for these systems will follow the same approach as other MFA-enabled Curtin systems. When accessing these platforms, you may be prompted to complete an additional verification step.
Please continue using the same Authenticator applications you already use for other Curtin systems.
