In this specialisation, you’ll learn contemporary illustration techniques from professionals across the illustration industry.

Illustration practice involves the exploration and development of ideas by using a wide range of skills, techniques and processes. You will be encouraged to experiment with as many different techniques as possible, enabling you to convey messages in appropriate and effective ways to a series of design briefs.

You’ll learn the techniques of digital illustration and image making, breaking down the traditional barriers between illustration and photography. You’ll also learn how to visualise and communicate narrative concepts, developing your ability as skilled technical practitioners and visual communicator.

What's a specialisation?

A specialisation is a set of four units you can choose to complement your course. Most Curtin courses allow you to choose a specialisation from any academic area. Humanities specialisations, like this one, can give a useful balance to a course from business, law, science, engineering or health disciplines. Learn more about specialisations
