Tutoring for Indigenous students
How to apply
Download and complete the application form to apply for ITAS. Alternatively, you can collect a form from the ITAS Officer located in the Centre for Aboriginal Studies Student Services area (Building 211), call (08) 9266 2893 or email CAS-ITASAdmin@curtin.edu.au.
You must complete a new form at the start of each semester.
There is a database of qualified tutors available, but you have the option to nominate your own tutor(s) on your ITAS application form. Your nominated tutor must apply to be a tutor under the ITAS program by completing a Prospective Tutor Pack [.pdf 1008kb].
There is a process involved with lodging the tutor application and it will take approximately three weeks to get new tutors on the system, therefore it is vital that applicants lodge their expression of interest as soon as possible.
Established in 2017, ISSP-ITAS is the ‘Indigenous Student Success Programme – Indigenous Tutorial Assistance Scheme’ as the way in which the Australian Government funds and delivers a range of programs targeting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The scheme allows all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to receive private tutorial assistance.
