Why might I want to speak to a First Year Advisor?

You are encouraged to contact your First Year Advisor at any time, but especially if you:

Have an equity background and would like a safe space to find out and access support services available to you.
Would like regular support in relation to your first year, unit progress or just to talk about your general experience during your studies.
Need guidance in mapping your goals, creating action plans or exploring opportunities to enhance your journey at Curtin.
Are struggling with your studies or failing your assessments and don’t know what to do about it or just looking for study tips and strategies.
Need help understanding uni jargon and ‘How-To’s’ like; how to ask for an extension, or what to do if unexpected circumstances are impacting your study, including personal matters and challenges outside of uni.
