The Living Room

The Living Room is a relaxed, drop-in space for students to chat, de-stress, and find support. If you’re going through a tough time or are unsure where to go for support, drop by The Living Room.

You can talk things through with trained Peer Support Advisors, current students who get the ups and downs of university life, because they are living it too.

No appointment or referral is needed.

Opening hours: 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday (during the semester)

Where to find us: Building 104.113.

The Living Room is not a crisis service. If you or someone you know is in high distress and need immediate help, visit the Emergencies and after hours help page.

What is a Peer Support Advisor?

Peer Support Advisors are current Curtin students from diverse backgrounds trained to support your wellbeing. Their role is to listen, help you make sense of what’s going on, support you to problem solve and recommend further support services if needed.

How does the Living Room work?

The Living Room is not a counselling service. It is a student-led space where you can drop in for support without the pressure of needing to make an appointment. We aim to make getting support as easy, approachable, and welcoming as possible.

A space for everyone

We recognise that everyone has their own way of understanding health and wellbeing. We welcome students from diverse cultural and faith backgrounds, including international students, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and those who identify as sexually and gender diverse.
