For almost 50 years, the on-campus Hayman Theater Company has provided opportunities for students to direct plays (45-50 mins) for a public audience in the Lunchtime and Sunday Night Theater program. This is a student-led initiative running in Semesters One and Two. Students can choose to direct an existing play or devise and write their own.

The Professional Related Experience (PRE) Program provides pre-service teachers with voluntary, real-world opportunities to develop skills and gain insight into the teaching profession. The program allows students to engage in meaningful activities beyond the classroom and professional placements, building confidence and practical understanding of educational environments.
Participants complete self-directed experiences such as volunteering in schools, early learning centres, or educational organisations, supporting learning initiatives, assisting with co-curricular programs, or contributing to mentoring and community outreach projects. These activities help students strengthen their professional identity and develop key attributes such as initiative, collaboration, communication, and service.
Through the PRE Program, pre-service teachers enrich their professional profile and prepare to enter the teaching profession as capable, committed, and community-minded educators.
