Head of School thanks PE Limited
Creating industry-ready graduates and future changemakers in the natural resources and energy sector is a key goal of the Western Australian School of Mines: Minerals, Energy and Chemical Engineering (WASM:MECE). Providing our students with hands-on experience with the latest tools and software to solve real-world problems is at the heart of the School’s curriculum.
We extend our sincere thanks to PE Ltd for their generous donation of educational licenses for the Integrated Production Modelling (IPM) software suite, with a retail value of AUD $5.5 million (GBP £2,662,348). Widely used across the global energy industry, the IPM suite includes key software tools such as GAP, PROSPER, MBAL, and RESOLVE, which will be integrated into our undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programs across the school. This will provide students with exposure to industry-standard software and hands-on experience in system-wide modelling, simulation, production system optimisation, and multiphase flow analysis, while also supporting learning in emerging areas such as hydrogen production, storage, and transportation—crucial for preparing our graduates to address the complex challenges of sustainable energy resources field and system development.

We are grateful for this donation from PE Ltd and look forward to our continuing partnership in the coming years.
