Assessment Pulse Check

As Curtin University moves towards Assessment 2030 and the Two-Lane Approach, educators are invited to reflect on their current assessments. A practical pulse check exercise can provide exactly that insight!

Why complete the Pulse Check?
This pulse check will help educators reflect on their current assessments across our five Curtin assessment categories: submissions, examinations, performance, combination assessments, and work-integrated learning. From there, you’ll consider if assessments sit under Lane 1: Secure or Lane 2: Open/Non-Secure. The process also encourages reflection beyond classification, prompting consideration of how assessments contribute to course learning outcomes and opportunities for innovation within your discipline.

Getting started
Ready to understand where your assessments fit? The pulse check provides a structured approach to evaluation and planning, whether you’re maintaining current approaches or exploring alternatives.
