Intervention to Prevent Problematic Internet Use and Excessive Screen Time Among Australian Youth

The project

The project aims to develop Australia’s first comprehensive, evidence-based, co-designed, and implementation-ready intervention to prevent problematic internet use and excessive screen time among Australian youth.

The involvement opportunity

The research team are currently preparing a grant application to fund this project, and need the help of a young person (aged 12-24 years) or the parent/carer of a young person.

You will meet with the lead researcher to discuss the project and then review relevant sections of the grant application. If successful, there is the opportunity for ongoing involvement.

Skills and experience

The research team are interested in hearing from young people (aged 12-24 years) and parents/carers of young people. You need to have an interest in the effects of problematic internet use and excessive screen time in young people.

Other information

This is a one-off time commitment of 30-minute meeting, plus 2-hours to review a grant application.

The meeting will be held online, in mid-late July 2026.

An honorarium payment of $50/hour is offered
