Melanoma Research Buddies

The project

The Melanoma Research Lab at Curtin focuses on discovery research, hosting a range of projects with particular emphasis on how cells divide, migrate, and communicate with their environment, and how these processes contribute to melanoma progression.

The involvement opportunity

The research team would like to involve two people with lived experience of melanoma to work with them as Research Buddies. Research Buddies will meet with the team a couple of times per year to provide a lived experience perspective on the research programme. There may also be ad hoc review of documents or applications.

Skills and experience

You need to have lived experience of melanoma yourself, or as the carer of someone with melanoma.

Other information

You will meet with the research team twice per year. There may also be ad hoc review of documents or applications a couple of times throughout the year.

Meetings will be held in person on the Curtin Bentley campus or online.

An honorarium of $50/hour is provided. Support is offered by the Curtin Involve Team.

Applications close 29 May 2026.
