What is the University Basketball League (UBL)?
The University Basketball League (UBL) is a national competition now in its 6th year, which brings together 12 universities from across Australia to compete for the national title.
Sanctioned by UniSport Australia and in partnership with Basketball Australia, the league provides student-athletes with a national platform to showcase their talent while balancing their academic pursuits.
2026 Season
The UBL season will be held in semester 2 – beginning of August through to end of September. Featuring eight (8) home and away games played at Curtin Stadium and across Australia. Finals will be played in October.

UBL Head Coaches – Expressions of Interest
Curtin is seeking experienced head coaches for our men’s and women’s Curtin Carnabys UBL teams in 2026.
If successful, the head coach for each team is expected to lead team trials and selections in May, deliver regular trainings throughout June and July, and be available for fixtured games. Some away games will require mid-week interstate travel.
