Join a sports club

Our sports clubs aren’t just for Curtin students – everyone is welcome. Whether you are a beginner or elite athlete, there is a Curtin sports club for you.

Athletics

Curtin Athletics Club offers people of all ages an enjoyable and supportive environment enabling them to train, develop and compete in the sport of track and field.

Australian Rules Football (AFL)

Curtin Wesley Football Club caters for players of all levels with teams entered in the Western Australian Amateur Football Association, including colts and women’s teams.

American Football (Gridiron)

Curtin Saints American Football Club is a community-based club and one of the largest in Australia with over 150 players.

Badminton

Curtin Dynamic Flames Badminton Club plays at centres across Perth, with over 300 members. The club welcomes all skill levels and provides free badminton coaching from nationally qualified coaches.

Cheer & Dance

Curtin University Cheer & Dance Club works on building and introducing skills in both cheerleading and dance to compete in state and national competitions.

Cricket

Curtin-Vic Park Redbacks Cricket Club welcomes players of all ages and ability. The club competes in the West Australian Suburban Turf Cricket Association.

Fencing

Swordfish Fencing is a specialised Epee club that offers beginner courses, individual lessons, and regular training.

Floorball

Curtin is partnered with Perth Oilers Floorball Club, competing in the Floorball WA League, as well as running social floorball during the off-season.

Football & Futsal (Soccer)

Curtin Football Club is a community club for Curtin students, staff and the local community. No matter the level you wish to play, Curtin Football Club has an option for you.

Hockey

Curtin University Hockey Club promotes and develops hockey both on campus and in the wider community. Members can enjoy social competition or pursue hockey to the highest level.

Judo

Curtin University Judo Club is the place to be for those learning Judo while improving standing and ground fighting techniques.

Karate

Curtin Karate Club covers various aspects of karate including self-defence, fitness, weapons and karate principles/philosophy.

Kendo

Curtin Kendo Club aims to challenge its members to constantly improve their skills through training and correct instruction. If you have never played before, the club runs beginners courses year-round.

Netball

Curtin Panthers Netball Club provides an environment for women to play competitive netball in a social and friendly atmosphere.

Rowing

Curtin University Boat Club members train socially and compete in regattas against other universities and rowing clubs.

Rugby

Curtin Uni Rugby Union Club pride themselves on an inclusive and social atmosphere and encourage players of all levels to join. The club is also home to Perth’s first LGBTQI+ rugby team, the Perth Rams.

Shorinji Kempo

Shorinji Kempo is a dynamic self-defense martial art based on natural body movements. The club concentrates on mutual respect and understanding through cooperative training.

Swimming

Victoria Park Swimming Club is a family-friendly community club catering for all levels of ability from fitness, swimmers with disabilities (Multi-Class) and competitive swimmers.

Tennis

Curtin Tennis Club operates to provide members consistent and organised social sessions, that cultivate a community of tennis players and inspires the growth of the sport at Curtin.

Volleyball

Reds Volleyball Club is partnered with Curtin and offers male and female athletes with the opportunity to compete in Western Australia’s premier indoor volleyball competitions.
