Community members

Important information

  • Your community library membership is personal, non-transferable and valid for 12 months. The Library will assign you a user ID and password.
  • The Library’s full range of databases is not available to community members because of licence constraints.
  • It is an important condition of use that Community members only use Library electronic resources for personal research or educational use (not as a substitute for employers or businesses obtaining access to these resources).

Library services for community members

Borrowing material from Library collections

Please visit Library Central or Kalgoorlie Library during full service hours to become a member.  Please ensure you have photographic ID, proof of your current address and a valid email address with you.  The process will take approximately 15 minutes, so please allow enough time.

The TL Robertson Collection is accessible through our ‘click and collect’ service, with requested items available for collection at Library Central. For information on how to borrow, request and return items visit our Books, resources and laptops page.

Electronic resources

Some electronic databases can be accessed from Library computers. To access databases available onsite, visit the Databases for onsite use web page and filter by group Databases for onsite use.

Access to additional electronic databases, including PubMed, via the Databases for guest use web page is available. Select filter by group Databases for guest use.

Not all e-Books are available for viewing due to licence restrictions.

Computers and facilities

Community members are welcome to use our library spaces and computers. To use the Library computers, sign in as a Curtin visitor. You can then use your ID to access the Library Catalogue.

Please note that community members cannot use Curtin’s wifi.

Photocopiers and printers are available in our libraries. Community members will need to register for a guest printing account to use Library printing facilities.
