Discover and Do offers foundational introduction sessions to sport and recreation activities, like swimming and riding a bike. Water Safety and Learn to Ride sessions are designed for students who may not have previously had the opportunity to build skills or confidence in these areas.
Expert instructors from Royal Life Saving WA and CycleSense deliver safe, inclusive and welcoming lessons that empower you make the most of campus life.

WATER SAFETY
During the Water Safety course, you’ll learn how to swim and stay safe in the water in a supportive and controlled environment.
Where?
Aqualife pool – don’t worry, a bus has been arranged to pick you up and drop you off from the Curtin Stadium!
When?
7-week program running every Sunday from Sunday 16 August to Sunday 18 October.
3 different groups:
Djildjit: From 12:30pm to 2:30pm
Kooyar: From 1:30pm to 3:30pm
Kwilena (Female only class): From 2:30pm to 4:30pm
Sessions are 2 hours in length. You will leave the stadium 30 minutes prior to your swimming lesson, which runs for 60 minutes. If your group is from 12:30pm to 2:30pm, your swimming lesson is from 1pm to 2pm.
Cost: Enjoy the 7-week program for just $20.

LEARN TO RIDE
During Learn to Ride, expert instructors will teach you how to ride a bike in a safe, supportive environment.
After you’ve completed this course, you’ll be able to ride around campus and venture out into the neighbourhood!
You’ll use a high quality second-hand bike which, if you attend 75% of sessions, you will be able to keep after the program! If you have your own bike, you can bring that to use. Make sure you bring a bike helmet with you.
Where?
Lessons will be run at the Curtin Stadium Tennis Courts.
When?
This 4-week program will be held on Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:30pm on the following dates:
– Tuesday 1 September
– Tuesday 8 September
– Tuesday 15 September
– Tuesday 22 September
