After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Curtin Open Day this Sunday due to the approaching cyclone and forecast strong winds and heavy rain.
We know how much work has gone into preparing for this event. Open Day is one of the moments where Curtin really comes to life and we were looking forward to welcoming thousands of future students and community members onto our Bentley campus.
While cyclone conditions are unpredictable and can change quickly, the current outlook means we cannot safely set up or deliver the experience our community deserves. The safety of our staff, students and visitors must come first.
We are already working on an alternative date so we can bring Open Day back in a way that is safe, welcoming and worthy of the effort our Curtin community puts in.
I want to take this opportunity to thank all those who had volunteered or prepared for Open Day and we will keep you updated as alternative plans progress.
Take care over the coming days and please stay safe.
