Access and Inclusion
John Curtin Gallery is committed to creating welcoming, inclusive and accessible experiences for people with disability and diverse access needs. Our access programs include tailored tours, activities and experiences designed to support different ways of engaging with art.
Chronically Crafty
Free, relaxed drop-in craft sessions welcoming people with physical and hidden disabilities, as well as anyone who would like to join. Participants can explore creative activities at their own pace in a welcoming and supportive environment.
The Art of Slow Looking
Mindful sessions that invite participants to slow down, look closely and develop deeper connections with art. The Art of Slow Looking introduces a simple, accessible approach to looking that encourages reflection, curiosity and thoughtful engagement. Sessions are free.
Hidden Disabilities Sunflower
John Curtin Gallery participates in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program, supporting a more inclusive and understanding environment for people with non-visible disabilities.
The Sunflower provides a discreet way for individuals to indicate that they may need additional assistance, understanding, patience or time while visiting the Gallery or participating in our programs. JCG staff are supporters of the program and are committed to responding with respect, understanding and flexibility.
