Albany Then & Now: A behind the scenes look

Curtin HIVE 14 Aug 2026 3:00pm-4:00pm

This event is presented by the Curtin University HIVE

The Albany Then & Now: Historical Panoramas of Menang Noongar Boodja exhibition, currently on display at John Curtin Gallery until 23 August 2026, features more than 30 historical panoramic views of Albany. In this talk, Associate Professor Andrew Woods will guide attendees through the amazing views in stunning detail on the large wrap-around cylinder projection screen at the Curtin University HIVE, exploring different locations and travelling backwards and forwards in time.

The talk will discuss the key elements of the exhibition and the work that has gone into its production, with attendees invited to explore the exhibition at their own pace before or after the talk.

The Albany Then & Now: Historical Panoramas of Menang Noongar Boodja exhibition is a collaboration between the Western Australian Museum, Curtin University HIVE, and the State Library of Western Australia, with support from the City of Albany and Lotterywest.
