From 11 April, Curtin will return to its usual international travel settings, aligned with Australian Government advice. This means the temporary pause on travel to DFAT Level 2 destinations will be lifted.
Student study tours and semester exchanges can proceed, subject to standard approval and risk management processes.
Students planning international travel should continue to:
- follow DFAT travel advice for their destination and check the ISOS app for security updates and emergency support
- monitor airline and travel arrangements carefully, noting that schedules can change
- remain aware of local conditions at their destination, including any transport disruptions that may affect onward travel.
Where travel includes regional destinations or travel beyond major transport hubs, students are encouraged to plan ahead for fuel and transport availability and ensure they have clear contingency arrangements.
Given the fluid and unpredictable nature of the current environment, please consider any personal financial implications should approval for travel be withdrawn at short notice.
Curtin will continue to monitor the situation closely, noting that international travel conditions can change quickly, and will provide updates if circumstances shift.
If you have questions about your exchange program or study tour, please contact your course coordinator or program team.
