On Tuesday 27 May, the energy was high at UWA as students from across WA came together for the Western Series Indigenous Games — a one-day event celebrating sport, culture, and community.
Curtin’s team showed up strong, competing against UWA, Murdoch, and ECU with skill, confidence, and unity. Their efforts paid off as they claimed the overall win, showing that teamwork and spirit go a long way.
The Games offered more than just competition — they created space for connection and pride, setting the stage for the 2025 Indigenous Nationals, a major event where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student-athletes from across Australia come together for a week-long multi-sport competition.
This year, the Indigenous Nationals will be hosted by UWA on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar from 23–27 June, bringing the action — and the culture — right to our doorstep.
Let’s get behind our teams, celebrate Indigenous excellence, and make this year’s Nationals one to remember!
