WA Health is Western Australia’s public health system. With a State spanning over 2.5 million square kilometres, it is the largest area in the world covered by a single health authority.

The WA Health Graduate Development Program (GDP) has 4 program streams designed to develop your skills based on your academic background, areas of expertise and personal interests. These Program streams include:

  • Finance and Business: for finance and business analyst graduates interested in accounting, legislation, compliance, policies and business improvement.
  • Information and Communication Technology (ICT): for graduates interested in business analysis, solutions architecture and application design and development.
  • Public Health/Health (formerly general corporate): for all other disciplines where your talents could be used anywhere across the health care system.
  • Data Analytics and Information Management: for graduates interested in how data can contribute to health service planning.

Eligibility

Applicants for the 2027 intake must have:

  • Completed a minimum of an undergraduate degree in 2025, or planned to complete in 2026.
  • Achieved a minimum Weighted Average Mark of 65%. Section 51 will be applied to this criterion for Aboriginal applicants. Section 66 will be applied to this criterion for applicants with disability.
  • You must be an Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen by the end of the calendar year in which you apply, e.g. become an Australian Citizen by December 2026.

Applicants graduating mid-year 2027 are encouraged to apply for the 2028 program.
