Do you want to work on a real-life sustainability challenge while experiencing the incredible city of Dubai?
We encourage you to submit your expression of interest now for the Global Sustainability Challenge – Dubai.
This is a great opportunity to build your professional network, gain global experiences, provide solutions for real-world sustainability problems, develop your CV, and earn course credit!
When is the Challenge? The Global Sustainability Challenge will be hosted at the Curtin Dubai campus from 7 November to 14 November 2025.
What’s involved? You’ll design solutions towards sustainability challenges posed by industry partners and academic experts in groups made up of students from all of Curtin’s global campuses.
Accepted students from Curtin’s Australian campuses will receive travel grants to cover their flights, accommodation, and most meals (all other expenses, including unit fees, will be yours to cover) and gain 25 credit points towards your degree. You will also be asked to pay a $250 deposit upon accepting your spot on the tour (which will be refunded to you if you end up travelling on the tour.)
Who is eligible? All current students (both undergraduate and postgraduate) with a CWA over 65, at least 200 credits completed (undergraduates) or 100 credits completed (postgraduates) and at least one semester remaining past Semester 2, 2025 are eligible to apply. You must be able to attend the Challenge in full (and in-person) on Dubai’s campus and have an elective or optional unit available for substitution on your study plan.
If you meet the criteria and have space on your study plan for a 25 credit point elective unit, register your interest for the Global Sustainability Challenge – Dubai and you will be contacted with more details soon!
