The Art of Slow Looking

John Curtin Gallery 25 Jun 2026 1:00pm-2:00pm

Join us for a Slow Looking tour exploring JCG’s current exhibitions, Christopher Pease: Terra Nullius and Reko Rennie: OA_RR.

Facilitated by Gallery Education Coordinator Mel Macauley, this mindful practice creates space and time to connect more deeply with art. Rather than rushing from artwork to artwork, participants are encouraged to sit, pause, observe and allow the work to reveal itself, following where it leads their thoughts and feelings.

During the session, we will introduce simple pedagogy for engaging with art through mindful observation and reflection. Following the tour, enjoy tea and coffee while sharing and discussing what you noticed, discovered and experienced together.
