Whether it’s your first time studying at university, or your first time studying in Kalgoorlie, Orientation is your opportunity to get to know your new surroundings and set you up for a successful study experience.

Moving to Kalgoorlie

Use these resources to ensure your move to Kalgoorlie is a smooth one.

When you arrive

Kalgoorlie Airport is about 5km away from the centre of Kalgoorlie. If you’ve completed an acceptance letter to stay at Agricola, you can request to be picked up. Alternatively, there are taxi services in Kalgoorlie.

If you’re travelling from Perth, you can take the Prospector train, which is a service that takes between six and seven hours.

Getting around Kalgoorlie

Kalgoorlie has a regular bus service that covers most of the town, including streets just a few minutes walk from the Curtin campus and student accommodation.

Life in Kalgoorlie

Agricola Residential College has a gym and outdoor recreational facilities, and Curtin Kalgoorlie has a social club for students that you can join.

If you need help or someone to talk to, your Student Wellbeing Advisor is here for you. You can contact them by phone, email or in person during the week.

Advisors will listen to your concerns, work with you to find solutions or connect you to the right support, and follow up if needed.
