Download your unit outlines

Unit outlines give you details of tasks, assessments and contact details for each unit you are enrolled in.

Find your unit outlines in the ‘My Studies’ tab in OASIS. If they’re not available to view yet, check back closer to the start of the study period.

Check your messages and emails in OASIS

Important messages and updates come via two channels: your student email and your Official Communications Channel (OCC), both accessible through OASIS. Check these channels at least once a week to ensure you don’t miss important information.

Download your free copy of Microsoft Office

As a Curtin OUA student, you have access to a range of free and discounted software. Follow the steps below to download your free copy of Microsoft Office 365.

Within the OASIS ‘Welcome’ tab, click on ‘Open your OASIS email’.
Click ‘Office 365’ in the top left corner of the page.
Select ‘Install Office’ and follow the prompts.

Complete AIP and Respectful Relationships

The compulsory Academic Integrity Program will help you learn about concepts of academic integrity, Curtin’s values and your obligations as a member of Curtin’s academic community. Log in to Blackboard to complete.

Respectful Relationships is a compulsory program that will equip you with a clear understanding of consent in relationships and help you effectively understand and communication with others regarding sexual relationships. Log in to Curtin Challenge to complete.

Locate your booklists

You will find your booklist in your unit outlines under the “My Studies” tab in OASIS and via the OUA Student Hub. These will be available in the week prior to the study period.

Learn about your fees

If you are in a Commonwealth Supported Place, you are required to pay the Student Services Amenities Fee (SSAF) each study period. If eligible, you can defer the SSAF by completing an electronic Commonwealth Assistance Form for SA-HELP before the census date. You can check your eligibility on the Study Assist website.

Learn how to use Blackboard and iLecture

Blackboard is Curtin’s learning management system and is where you’ll find the learning resources for your units. Read through the Blackboard student guides and get familiar with Blackboard’s online tools and functions

iLecture allows you to access recordings of your unit lecturers or other video-based resources prepared by your lecturers. Learn about how to use iLecture’s features in the iLecture student guide.
