During their rural clinical placement at Kalgoorlie Health Campus, our nursing students had the opportunity to learn and engage with LUCAS 3 – an automated compression system that facilitates continuous chest compressions.
The CPR machine allows staff to coordinate a resus more efficiently – and with less strain and / or risk for the person providing CPR. With flexibility to be used almost anywhere, it is especially handy during an emergency response, and when transferring patients on the go. What an amazing machine – and even better, these students got to see it here in the Goldfields first!
