Access to essential period products is now easier for students studying at Curtin’s 57 Murray Street Campus, with a free period product dispenser recently installed on campus.
Located in P05.209, the dispenser provides students with convenient access to free period products when they need them, helping to create a more inclusive and supportive campus environment.
While the dispenser is currently only available to students with access to 57 Murray Street, plans are being explored to introduce a second dispenser at 78 Murray Street, further improving access for students across the Perth City campuses.
The installation follows advocacy from Faculty of Business and Law Representative Ebony Whitney, who has been working alongside students and the University to improve services, facilities and wellbeing support at the Murray Street Campus.
The new dispenser builds on free period product initiatives already available across Curtin, including programs at the Bentley Campus through the Guild Women’s and Queer Departments, and at the Kalgoorlie Campus through the Women of WASM Club.
Small changes like these can make a meaningful difference to students’ day-to-day campus experience by reducing barriers and ensuring essential products are available when they’re needed most.
