This Friday, 16 January, the Curtin Networks team will be deploying an update to strengthen our cybersecurity.
Who does this affect:
If you use your own device (a non-Curtin supplied laptop, or mobile phone) to connect to the Curtin network via wired or WiFi – will receive a pop up message asking you to “trust” a new certificate.
What do you need to do:
Depending on your device and operating system, you will receive a notification which asks you to trust a new certificate. To continue accessing the Curtin network, you will need to accept this notification.
What is a security certificate?
An IT security certificate is a digital “ID card” that proves a website, system or person is genuine and trusted. It helps keep data safe by encrypting information so others can’t read or alter it.
We appreciate everyone’s efforts to stay cyber safe.
