Curtin University has once again been named the Overall Champions in the West region!

The 2023 UniSport Nationals competition officially ended in late November after a bout of around 70 competition events held by Australia’s governing body of university sport.

Forty-two universities across the country competed in this year’s Nationals competition which ultimately saw the University of Sydney be named the Overall UniSport Nationals Champions.

While Curtin University didn’t quite reach that height, Curtin was named the Overall Champions in the West region for the second year running and came out on top compared to its Western university rivals.

The overall champion university rankings are based on the number of pennants won by each university across all the competition events that are held throughout the year. Curtin University won a gold medal in beach volleyball at the Nationals Gold Coast competition and a silver medal in futsal at the Nationals Championships in July.

Out of 42 Australian universities that competed, Curtin University placed 17th.

Congratulations to all the student athletes who competed in the 2023 UniSport Nationals competition.
