Graduation might feel like the finish line, but it’s just the start of your next big adventure. Whether you’ve got a plan or you’re still figuring things out, there are plenty of ways to prepare for life after Curtin.
Explore your options early
You don’t have to have your whole future mapped out before you throw your cap in the air. Use your final semester to explore what’s out there. Head to Career Advice (on campus or online) for one-on-one support, career option exploring sessions and workshops. From resume help to networking tips, they’ve got your back.
Tap into graduate programs
Many organisations offer graduate programs designed to support your transition from student life to full-time work. These programs often open applications months before graduation, so keep an eye out on UniHub and job sites. Even if you’re not 100% sure what you want to do, these roles can be a great way to test the waters while building skills.
Make the most of Curtin Extra
Been volunteering, mentoring or part of a club? Don’t forget to claim your Curtin Extra certificate. It’s an official recognition of your co-curricular activities, and a great way to show future employers that you’ve done more than just attend lectures.
Stay connected as an alumni
Once you graduate, you’re officially part of the Curtin Alumni community, a global network of over 250,000 former students. That means access to exclusive networking events, industry panels, continued career support and even further study discounts. Don’t ghost your uni just yet, being an alumni has its perks!
Don’t stress, everyone’s journey looks different
Some grads walk straight into their dream job. Others travel, study more, switch paths or take a break. There’s no one right way to do post-uni life. Be open, ask for help when you need it and remember, your degree has opened a lot of doors.
No matter where you’re headed next, remember that support doesn’t stop when you graduate. Stay curious, stay connected and take it one step at a time, your journey is just beginning
