2025 Telethon7 Perth Family Festival

2025 Telethon7 Perth Family Festival

The weather didn’t stop the energy at this year’s Telethon7 Perth Family Festival.

As always, we love being part of WA’s biggest fundraising weekend, helping to raise a phenomenal $90 million for WA children. The team enjoyed spending the day colouring and spinning the emotion wheel; we even had Captain Starlight join us for a spin!

What a great opportunity it was to raise awareness about some of the incredible research at Curtin University that is making a difference in the lives of WA children and their families. A special thank you to everyone involved and to those who generously donated this weekend. Your support is helping fund life-changing research here at Curtin!

Research Rumble- Cracking the code: How genetics transforms stuttering

The Curtin Stuttering Treatment Clinic recently celebrated 40 years of life-changing work with a sold-out Research Rumble event. Associate Professor Janet Beilby and U.S. geneticist Professor Shelly Jo Kraft shared their groundbreaking discovery linking specific genes to stuttering- using data from over a million participants worldwide, including many West Australians.

Joined by the clinic’s manager, educator and graduate, Kathy Viljoen the panel explored how these findings will transform understanding, diagnosis, and support for those who stutter.
